Car Maintenance Tips for Spring

keep your car running car maintenance
Thank the good Lord that spring is here! Okay, so today isn’t the most pleasant of spring days, but just think, sun and 70 degrees is not too far away! And that means you can cruise through the streets of Connecticut with the windows down and the music on, enjoying the beautiful weather!

But first, there’s a few things that you should take care of in terms of your car.  It was a rough winter this year, perhaps one of the worst ever in terms of cold, so giving your car a quick check up could end up saving you hundreds, if not thousands in repair bills for something that could have easily been prevented.

Prepping your car may be all you need to do to ensure a smooth transition into spring driving conditions.

Below are some of the most important car maintenance tips that will have you feeling happy and worry-free about having to file a CT auto insurance claim!

  1. Brakes. Winter conditions and salt on the roads may lead to the corrosion of brake parts. ALWAYS have them checked after the winter!
  2. Battery. Winter weather may be tough on this critical part. Check it to make sure it is running strong.
  3. Tires. Inspect for signs of wear and tear. Also, you may need to fill your tires with air. The change in weather may affect the tire pressure.
  4. Air conditioner. The last thing that you need is a broken A/C for the warm days ahead!
  5. Air filters. Have these filters cleaned. A fresh start will make for fresher air in your car, too.
  6. Interior and exterior. Spring cleaning for your car is just as important as spring cleaning at home. Make it shine, from the inside out.
